NTC and PTC resistors (Thermistor) is a type of resistor that has a very high temperature coefficient. The primary function of these components in an electronic circuit is to change the resistance value due to the change of temperature in the circuit. Such characteristics allows us to be able to overcome some simple problems, such as those related to the temperature sensor, temperature compensation system settings or other problems.

In the control system using microcontroller, NTC and PTC resistors can be used as an input signal to the sensor microcontroller. Applications of this type resistors of which can be used for digital thermometer, heat protection system for, and others.
Thermistor is composed of two types: NTC and PTC. NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor which is a small value will increase when exposed to heat. While PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor which is a small value will increase when the temperature gets colder.
