The resistor is a two-channel electronic components that are designed to resist/obstruct the flow of electricity by producing a voltage drop between the two of its channels in accordance with the current cross, based on Ohm's law.
Figure 1-1 Fixed Resistor
Function of resistor can be described as a piece of Board that used to hold the heavy flow of water in the ditch/trench is small. By using this Board, then arrest the flow of water can be hindered its flow. The greater the Board used to hold and sickle increasingly small trenches, running water. Similarly, this occurrence can be applied in the study of electronics. The greater the resistance (resistance), the small electrical currents and voltage through it.
You can conclude that the electric resistor in the circuit to function as:
1. hold the most power lines to fit the needs of a series of electronics.
2. lower the voltage corresponds to that required by electronic circuits.
3. divide the voltage.
4. cooperate with the transistor and a capacitor in a circuit to generate high-frequency and low-frequency.
The main characteristics of the resistor is resistance and electrical power rating can be. Other characteristics includes temperatur coefficient, electrical noises, and inductance.
Resistors can be integrated into hybrid and printed circuits, integrated circuits. The size and layout of the foot depending on the design of the circuit, the resistor must be physically large enough to keep it from becoming too hoot while dissipates power.
Units of Ohm is the Resistor, which is denoted with a (Ω). And the value of the value of the Resistor can be convert in the form of a Kilo, Mega, Giga and Tera. Its value is as pointed out in the following table.
Table 1.1 the conversion value of Resistor
The symbol of the resistors remain diverse, yet which are often in use is as shown in Figure 1-1 below:
